Unable to place cursor in the right place of the word in Studio 2022

Hi,

With the installation of Studio 2022, I've been encountering this problem: when translating in Editor, I am unable place the cursor in the right place of the word. For some reason, it gets placed in the wrong place. For instance if I want to correct the spelling in the word "Liason" by inserting "i" after "a", I would not be able to place the cursor after "a". More than that, it is not only miscplaced, but is shown on the screen incorrectly. I.e. it appears to be in one place, but actually is in another. So when you try to make the correction, you end up deleting/adding characters in the wrong place. It is really frustrating and time consuming.

Interestingly, this problem may "dissapear" for a few minutes, then re-appear again. But it does not depend on a particular document or project. It persists in all of them. It also doesn't matter whether I use the mouse or try to navigate the cursor with the arrow keys.

Has anyone come up with or heard of a solution to this?

(Changing font size or playing with "show tags but not formatting" or vice versa does not help).

Thanks,

Vytautas

The problem you are experiencing was a known issue with Trados Studio 2022. What version are you using?  Current version is:

    Trados Studio 2022 - 17.0.6.14902
    MultiTerm 2022 - 17.0.0.1685

I can't check the bug database right now but it would be useful to know whether you are on the latest version of Studio and if you're not then has it improved after you upgrade?

One temporary workaround suggested by other users experiencing this problem is to use the CTRL+Left Arrow or CTRL+Right Arrow keys to move to the beginning of the adjacent word and then count the number of arrow key presses until the cursor is in the desired location.

Another suggestion was to either enable the "Show all tags but do not show formatting" option in the Studio settings or increase the size of the font. It seems that these changes can help improve the display of the cursor position, although I recognise you said this didn't help you.  So good to know what version you're on?

Please note that this issue had already been reported to the Trados' engineering team (Issue number: CRQ-29205), and they were working on a fix.
