How can you prevent Studio 2022 erasing comments when cleaning/finalising?

In contrast to previous versions, Studio 2022 (ver. 17.0.6.14902) deletes comments (i.e. those entered manually in the editor) when cleaning/finalising.

Is there are function/setting to switch off this deletion, so that these comments still appear in the "clean" translation?

  • Hello,

In Trados Studio 2022, you can prevent comments from being deleted when cleaning or finalizing a project by following these steps:

Step 1: Open your project in Trados Studio 2022.

Step 2: Go to the "Project Settings" by clicking on "Project" in the top menu and selecting "Project Settings."

Step 3: In the "Project Settings" window, navigate to the "File Types" section.

Step 4: Select the file type you are working with (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Step 5: Click on the "Common" tab in the settings for the selected file type.

Step 6: Locate the "Export" section, and uncheck the box next to "Remove comments."

Step 7: Click "OK" to save your changes.

Now, when you clean or finalize your project, the comments should be preserved in the exported target document.

Please note that these steps may vary slightly depending on the file type you are working with. If you need further assistance, please let me know.
