How can I add a Chinese InDesign font as a target font for the final file in Studio?

I receive English source files and translate them to simplified Chinese. Standard font used for simplified Chinese is Sim Sun. But our client would like to receive the final files in the DFP Hei font. I already tried the font mapping but could not find the DFP Hei font. So my question is, how can I add this font (if that is even possible) to the Studio mapping?

I use Trados Studio 2017.

Like this by right-clicking and adding the font:

  • Thanks for your quick reaction Paul. I should have mentioned that I tried that, clicked on it and then nothing really happened. I can add a name of the new font and then that's that. Does Trados automatically know which font it is? Or do I have to upload something somewhere?

It is indeed not very intuitive nor well documented.  But here's a quick video to show you how to do it.  I forgot to mention that if you use a project template then make this change in the project template and that way you can have this configuration for one specific client and won't affect the ones you do for others.

  • Thank you very much Paul. I will try it and send the file to the client and let you know if it worked.
