Due to essential maintenance, access to Trados cloud will be unavailable on Saturday 30 August from 00:00 to 12:00 UTC.

E rror message.: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

In Trados 2011 I am getting the following error message.

" De objectverwijzing is niet op een exemplaar van een object ingesteld"
which translates as:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

It is then not possible to close down Trados.
I am using Windows 8 and Word 2011

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

Thank you for your post. I am sorry to hear that you experience issues with our software.
As possible solutions please check this:

    1. Check if repairing SDL Trados Studio fixes this
    2. If repairing Studio fails to make this work please reset SDL Trados Studio to default state :

    - Please browse here
C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Local\SDL: rename the SDL Trados Studio and ProjectApi folder
here: C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL: rename the SDL Trados Studio folder
and here : C:\Users\[User_Name]\Documents\Studio [VERSION]: rename the Studio [VERSION folder to Studio [VERSION]_Old

Some folders may be hidden. For this reason you may need to review your folder settings via: Start - Control Panel - Folder Options - View - and select "Show hidden files, folders or drives
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Radu
