Project Template for AuthorIT not working in Trados 2022

At the beginning of June 2023, my colleague and I switched to Trados 22 Professional (my current version is Trados Studio 2022 - 17.0.6.14902). We used a Project template to read the content from our customer's AuthorIT files correctly.

On my colleague's PC, the template is working just fine. On my PC it has not worked since day one. I have tried resetting Trados default settings, closing and opening Trados, and deleting the "C:\Users\user\Documents\Studio 2019" files (I thought there could be some conflict). It still does not work.

Any idea how to solve this?

  • All you need to do is ask your customer what changes they made to the default AuthorIT filetype in Studio?  Once you know you just make the same changes... that are not difficult...create a project and then right click on the project to save it as a template.

I wish it was that simple. The office I am in contact with does not know anything about Trados templates. They had it prepared by someone who does not work in the company any longer. So they will not be able to provide anything to me.

Does your colleague have exactly the same version of 2022 as you do?

Thanks for asking. I have checked, and the answer is no. My colleague has version 17.0.3.11.695. My version is 17.0.6.14902. Could this be a game-changer? And if so, is it possible for my Trados to go back to version 17.0.3.11.695?
