Trados splits the same segment in many parts (and I can't merge them back)

Hi,
I have uploaded a Word doc. to Trados after converting it from PDF with the PDF Assistant for Trados and I see it splits segments in several parts; sometimes it breaks words across 4 o 5 segments.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
In the screenshot below, from segment 568 to 572, it should be all one segment (this is also how the original PDF is).

Many thanks for your help

Marta

  • Dear Lydia,

Thanks for your answer. Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by showing all contents. Could you be more specific, please? (I am new to Trados and I don't know much of its functionalities). I include a screenshot of the Editor with "Full tag text" clicked (in case it was that what you meant). I have checked the settings, and in the screenshot you included, I have ticked the same boxes as you, included the highlighted one "Extract Hyperlinks".

*I include 2 more screenshots below this one.

Screenshot of Trados Studio Editor with 'Full tag text' option selected, showing a segment of text with a hyperlink and a message about MinKNOW reporting a lower number of pores.

The text in the pdf is included in a table, (see image below). I don't know if this is related.

Screenshot of a table in Trados Studio comparing observations, possible causes, and commentsactions related to MinKNOW reporting discrepancies in pore numbers.

The PDF Assistant extracted the table properly, though. Below is the screenshot of the Word Doc I got from the PDF.
If you have any idea of what could I do to get the settings right, I'll appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Marta
