MS word spellcheck does not work (on two installations)

Hello,

Suddenly, without changing any settings, the MS spell checker does not work. When I press F7 it does recognize typos but they are not underlined. And yes, I have ticked the box for checking while translating. First it happened some weeks ago on my laptop and now on my desktop PC. I already uninstalled MS word which didn't help. I really don't want to deinstall trados again (after being forced to do so because this software basically is a pile of bugs).

  • Hello,

I understand that you're having trouble with the MS Word spell checker not underlining typos in Trados Studio, even though you have the 'check while translating' option enabled. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this issue:

Step 1: Ensure that the language proofing pack for the language you're working with is installed in MS Word. You can check this by opening a Word file, going to File > Options > Language, and checking under 'Editing Languages' if there is anything not installed. If it's missing, download and install the required language pack.

Step 2: Check if the issue persists in Trados Studio. If it does, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Reset your Trados Studio settings. To do this, go to File > Setup > Reset to Default Settings. Please note that this will reset all your personalized settings.

Step 4: If the issue still persists, you might need to repair your Trados Studio installation. You can do this from the 'Programs and Features' section in your computer's Control Panel. Find Trados Studio in the list of programs, right-click on it, and select 'Repair'.

Please note that these steps are meant to resolve common issues with the MS Word spell checker in Trados Studio. If the problem persists after trying these steps, it might be due to a more complex issue that requires further investigation.

    Best regards,
