Translation is finished, but status still reads "in translation."

Hello,

I'm just beginning with Trados Studio 2022 - 17.0.4.13209. To try to get the hang of everything, I'm working on the sample project that came with the program.

I've translated both the .doc file and the .docx file. Both files are completed, and every line has the appropriate checkmark. Nonetheless, the status reads "in translation," and the .doc file shows as being at 94%, and the .docx file shows as being at 95% complete.

I can't find where I'm missing something. Is there some way Studio can tell me what remains to be done?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello Kathleen,

It seems like you've done a great job translating the files, but Trados Studio is not recognizing them as 100% complete. This could be due to a few reasons. Here's how you can troubleshoot:

Step 1: Check for Unconfirmed Segments

Even though all lines have checkmarks, there might be some segments that are not confirmed. To check this, go to the "Review" tab and click on "Confirm All". This will confirm all translated segments.

Step 2: Check for Filtered Out Segments

There might be some segments that are filtered out and hence not visible. To ensure all segments are visible, go to the "Display Filter" and select "All Segments".

Step 3: Check the Confirmation Statistics

As mentioned in the context, you can check the "Confirmation Statistics" tab at the bottom of the view. This will provide detailed information on the progress of the translation project, including the percentage of translation completion and the number of segments, words, characters, and tags.

Step 4: Check for Locked Segments

Locked segments might also cause the translation progress to be less than 100%. To unlock all segments, go to the "Review" tab and click on "Unlock All".

If after following these steps, the status still reads "in translation", it might be a software glitch. In such a case, try closing and reopening the project or restarting Trados Studio.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
