Project list empty

Hi there!

When I opened Studio  2021 this morning, I found the project list empty. The contacts seem to have disappeared, too.
I didn't do anything special. On Friday, everything was still working.
The files are in the explorer, it seems that Trados cannot find them.

Any idea, how to get back my project list? (yes, I put everything to "Show all projects")

  • Hello Sabine,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing. Here are some steps you can take to resolve it:

Step 1: Ensure that you're viewing all projects. In the Projects View in Trados Studio, make sure all criteria are set to "Show all projects". You've mentioned that you've already done this, but it's worth double-checking.

Step 2: Check your project files. If the projects are still not appearing, it's possible that the project files (.sdlproj) have been moved or deleted. Please verify that these files are still in their original location.

Step 3: Re-add the projects. If the project files are in their original location, you can try to re-add them to Trados Studio. To do this, go to File > Open > Projects, then navigate to the location of your .sdlproj files and open them.

Step 4: Check for software updates. If the issue persists, it might be due to a software glitch. Check for any available updates for Trados Studio 2021 and install them if available.

Step 5: Repair Trados Studio. If none of the above steps work, you may need to repair your Trados Studio installation. You can do this from the Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Trados Studio 2021 > Change > Repair.

Please note that it's important to back up your work regularly to prevent data loss.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Projects are saved in this file:

    C:\Users\[userName]\Documents\Studio 2021\Projects\projects.xml

If you mean Users by contacts, they are also saved in the same projects file, so this file might have got corrupted.

Could you confirm if you have this file in this location?

Have you got a recent backup of this file?

  • Thanks for your answer, Jesús,

yes, this file exists. Meanwhile I added the recent projects manually, as I had to continue my work. So, problem resolved (for the moment)...
