False error messages

Hello!

I'm using Trados Studio 2022 SR1, and am in the middle of Trados Studio Level 1 eLearning. As part of the tutorial, I'm supposed to save a project template. When I started to save it, I got an error message that said it could not save, because the .sdltpl file was in use by another process.

This was very concerning, but when I tried it a second time, Windows asked me if I wanted to replace the .sdltpl file. In other words, the warning message was false. Studio had indeed saved the file the first time I tried.

Is there anything that can be done about false error messages? It's very misleading and unnerving!

Thanks!

Kathleen

  • Hello Kathleen,

I understand your concern about the false error messages you're encountering in Trados Studio 2022 SR1. This could be due to a temporary glitch in the software or a delay in the system's response. Here are a few steps you can take to avoid such issues:

Step 1: Ensure that you have the latest updates for Trados Studio. You can check for updates within the application itself.

Step 2: Try closing and reopening Trados Studio. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor glitches.

Step 3: If the problem persists, you might want to consider reinstalling Trados Studio. This can help to reset any settings that may be causing the issue.

Step 4: If you're still encountering the same issue, you may want to consider resetting your user profile in Trados Studio. This can be done by going to File > Setup > User Profiles, and then selecting the option to reset your profile.

Please note that these steps are general troubleshooting methods and may not necessarily resolve your specific issue. If the problem persists, it would be best to document the exact steps you're taking when the error occurs, along with any relevant screenshots, and then report this issue to the Trados technical team for further investigation.

    I hope this helps!
