TTX problem - ULTRA SLOW SDL STUDIO 2014

Hi, I'm having problems with a TTX file in SDL Studio 2014. I have checked the Compatibility options and have ticked them as advised by the client (Ticked options 1, 2 and 4). but everytime I want to confirm a segment (to update / not necessarily update) my tm, studio goes in outta space and keeps me waiting 3 or 4 minutes...

I have tried to untick option nb 2 (Generate info on the structure) in the compatibilitiy options for TradosTag as suggested by Paul in a previous thread. This does not change anything.

I have checked if Avast (av) is responsible for this, but after deactivating Avast 10 mn, in order to test this, Studio remains as slow.

The thing which is puzzling me is that when I click Ctrl+Alt+Del to check which applications consume all the processing power, the one which comes first is Winword (which can be listed 4 to 6 times)... but Word is not open when I work. And if I want to check if my ttx is a Word file originally, I don' t know how since when I try to save a test translation in its original format, i get an error message that says that the file for the tag settings INI named GS cannot be found (or something similar, as my message is in French).

I have tried "killing" Winword in "Windows Task Manager", but the problem remains.

the workaround suggested by the client is for me NOT to confirm the segments, which I simply don't find productive at all! the work is taking me ages to complete that way.

Does anybody have a clue? I'm at a loss!
Thank you!!! isabelle.
