Hello, I am unable to open Studio 2019 as I keep getting this message: Error processing command line arguments: The translation memory data file engine returned an error: disk I/O error. Can anyone help?

I have been trying to open Studio 2019 for a while but keep getting the same message: Error processing command line arguments: The translation memory data file engine returned an error:

  • Hello,

I understand that you're having trouble opening Trados Studio 2019 due to a disk I/O error. This issue can be resolved by following these steps:

Step 1: Close all RWS applications.

Step 2: Navigate to the following location on your computer: C:\Users\%User Name%\App Data\Local\SDL\Trados Studio\15.0.0.0

Step 3: Look for the file named 'Translation Memory Repository.xml'. Once you find it, rename it to 'Translation Memory Repository_old.xml'. Alternatively, you can delete this file.

Step 4: Try opening Trados Studio 2019 again to see if the issue persists.

Please note that this issue has been permanently fixed in Trados Studio 2021 SR 1 on build 16.1.0.3490. If you continue to experience this problem, you might want to consider upgrading to the latest version of Trados Studio.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

    Best regards,
