Trados 2021 is not working although I have a subscription. Exits every time I open it saying my licence has expired.

Although my Language Cloud Subscription is valid (purchased recently) for the Trados Freelance Personal package, each time I open Trados Studio 2021 a message appears that says

"The product license has been deactivated and Trados Studio will now exit. To start again, you must activate the product."

I have already opened a support ticket in support but only got general messages about the joining the community.

What could I be doing wrong? Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you

Irene

  • Hello Irene,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with Trados Studio 2021. It seems like there might be a problem with the license activation. Here's what you can do to resolve this:

Step 1: Open Trados Studio 2021. If you're using an unlicensed version, the Product Activation window should appear. If you have a perpetual license and want to switch to a subscription, go to the Help tab > Product Activation.

Step 2: Deactivate your current license and select the Subscription tab.

Step 3: In the Trados Studio 2021 Product Activation window, click the Subscription tab.

Step 4: Enter the email address and password associated with your Language Cloud account and click Log In.

Step 5: Trados Studio will show all the Language Cloud accounts that you are a member of. Select the corresponding account.

Step 6: To review the resources available for the selected account, click on the name of the Language Cloud package.

Step 7: If the selected account includes a Trados Studio license and you are currently using an unlicensed version, an Activate button will be displayed. Click this to license Trados Studio and show your Language Cloud subscription type.

Step 8: Click OK to close the window and restart Trados Studio with the new subscription license.

If you've followed these steps and are still experiencing issues, it might be a technical problem that needs further investigation. In this case, please wait for a response from the support ticket you've opened. They are the best equipped to handle such issues.

I hope this helps, and you're able to use Trados Studio 2021 soon!

    Best regards,
