Term Verification problems with Trados Studio 2022 SR1

Hello, community,

at my company, we updated to SR1 of Trados Studio 2022 a few days ago. Since then, we are having problems with the Verification. Specifically,

  1. Verfication takes extremely long (for a project with multiple small files it ran for over an hour, maybe nearing even 2 hours)
  2. Verification frequently returns errors such as these
    1. Stacktrace 1 (code below)
    2. Stacktrace 2 (code below)

Any ideas for how to fix this? We think it's got something to do with forbidden terms (of which we have not many in our termbase, but even if we uncheck this option in the Verification settings, the process does not work properly).

Stacktrace 1:

  • Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with term verification in Trados Studio 2022 SR1. The error messages you're receiving seem to be related to the term verification process, specifically when checking for forbidden terms.

Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:

Step 1: Update your software. Ensure that you're running the latest version of Trados Studio 2022 SR1. You can check for updates within the application.

Step 2: Check your term bases. Make sure that your term bases are correctly set up and that there are no issues with the terms themselves.

Step 3: Adjust your verification settings. You mentioned that you've already tried unchecking the option for forbidden terms in the Verification settings. You might also want to try adjusting other settings related to term verification to see if this resolves the issue.

Step 4: Run a tag verification. This can help identify any issues with the tags in your translation units. You can do this by going to File > Options > Verification and ensuring that Tag verification is enabled. For ongoing projects, open the Project Settings > Verification. In Verification > Tag Verifier > Common, make sure the option Tags added/deleted is enabled. In the Editor side-by-side view select Tools > Verify (in Studio 2011) or Review > Verify (as of Studio 2014) (or press the keyboard shortcut [F8]). This will run the QA Checker, Terminology verification, and Tag verification. Correct all the translation units showing the error message Tag pair removed that contain a tag pair field in the source language but not in the target language.

Step 5: If the problem persists, you may want to consider reinstalling Trados Studio 2022 SR1.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue. If you continue to experience problems, please let me know.

    Best regards,
