I think I know what you mean... since you will always be populating a TM if you want to create one.  It might be a good idea to explain why you want this because I can only guess.  I don't really know what you're looking.

Ultimately there are many ways to achieve this bt tell us a bit more and we can offer some advice on which one may be the most appropriate for your needs.

I realized some of the files I translated before are similar to the files I am receiving now. Unfortunately, those translated files were either translated as single files (without creating a project) or as projects without populating TM (by default, I think). Naturally, I wondered about if there might be a convenient way to produce a (combined) TM as I found all the files generated by Trado during my translation are still available...

Worth noting you can use a single TM for all your projects whether they are single file projects or standard Studio projects. Default doesn't really come into this as it's entirely up to you!

ok - then easiest way might be to simply create your TM, put it somewhere you'll always find it, and then import your translated SDLXLIFF files directly into the TM using the Translation Memory Maintenance View.
