Multiterm Terms in termbase suddenly not recognized any more

Since two weeks, Trados seems unable to recognize terms in my termbase.

Latest version of Trados Studio 2022 Freelance Plus with SR1 update on computer.
Have deinstalled and reinstalled Trados and Multiterm
Have created a new termbase with the same content
The termbase is active in the project settings.
Nothinhg has worked.
Has anyone had a similar problem or an idea how I can remedy this?
My termbase has a lot of very vaulable entries which I really rely on!

Thanks in advance

  • Hello Helen,

I understand that you're having trouble with term recognition in your termbase. This can indeed be frustrating, especially when you rely heavily on your termbase. Based on the context provided, it seems like reorganizing your termbase might help improve term recognition. Here's how you can do it:

Step 1: Open your termbase in MultiTerm. If you haven't installed MultiTerm yet, you can download it from your RWS account and install it. Once installed, double-clicking a termbase file (*.sdltb) in Windows Explorer will open the termbase in MultiTerm.

Step 2: With the termbase(s) open in MultiTerm, navigate to Termbase Management. Make sure the Home tab is selected.

Step 3: Click on 'Reorganize' and select the termbases you want to reorganize. You can run the process on several termbases at once.

The reorganization process is usually quick, so it should only take a few minutes, or maybe even seconds if the termbase is small. After the process is complete, you can close MultiTerm and go back to Trados Studio, where you should start seeing improved term recognition.

I hope this helps! If you continue to experience issues, please let me know.

    Best regards,
