Probably because you have downloaded the latest plugin and you have not updated Trados Studio to SR1.  It will not work on earlier versions.  There are two versions on the appstore so if you took the wrong one this would probably explain it:

Then please do the following.  Take a copy of your sdlplugin file and add a .zip to the end. Unzip the contents to some (any empty) folder.  Then open the pluginpackage.manifest.xml file in a text editor and provide a screenshot of what you see.

Thanks  , so this is why you see this:

You have these two versions of Studio installed, neither of them are for 2022 SR1 which is 17.1.6.16252.  In the manifest it's clear to see the following:

1. the plugin you installed is version 1.1.3.0 which is not the one for versions of Studio below SR1
2. the min version of the plugin is 17.1 which means it will only get installed into Trados Studio version 17.1.x.xxxxx

Indeed!  I think the problem is you are not being careful enough.  I just downloaded the other one from the appstore and opened the pluginpackage.manifest.xml and see this:

There is absolutely no question, you are not working with the right files.  I suggest you clear out these folders first:

%APPDATA%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

c:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

Then delete every openai plugin you have on your computer.  Then go to the website and click on download and select this:

Install it.
