Termbase in GroupShare does on connect via VPN

I use SurfShark VPN and I always have to pause it to be able for my Trados to connect to the client´s TB on their server.

Trados then connects to the TB and I can turn the VPN back on again afterwards and everything works fine. But I have to repeat this "pause-connect to TB-reconnect VPN" process everyday, which is annoying.

I already set the VPN to allow Trados to connect bypassing the VPN, but apparently this has not helped completely.

Any ideas please?

Not anything we know a lot about... I think... but here are some potential solutions to consider (a little AI assistance):

    1. **Specific IP Whitelisting**: If you know the IP address or the range of IP addresses of your client's TB server, you might be able to specifically whitelist them in SurfShark, allowing your machine to always connect directly without the VPN interference.

    2. **Try Different Server Locations**: Sometimes the issue may be related to the particular VPN server location you're connected to. You can try connecting to a different location and see if that makes a difference.

    3. **Custom DNS Settings**: Some VPNs, SurfShark included, allow you to change your DNS settings. The issue might be DNS related, where the VPN's DNS servers are unable to resolve the domain name of the TB server. You could try using a different DNS, like Google's `8.8.8.8` or Cloudflare's `1.1.1.1`.

    4. **Router Level VPN**: If you're using a VPN on your computer, try switching to a router-based VPN connection. This way, you can easily exclude specific devices or services from the VPN connection without having to switch on or off regularly.

    5. **Contact Support**: Reach out to SurfShark's customer support. They might be aware of such issues and could offer a solution or a workaround.

    6. **Alternate VPNs**: If you can't find a solution, you might want to try another VPN service, which may handle split tunneling or specific connections differently.

    7. **Automation**: As a more tech-savvy workaround, you could look into automating the process of pausing the VPN, allowing Trados to connect, and then re-enabling the VPN. While it may require some initial setup, it could save you time in the long run. Automation tools like `AutoHotkey` on Windows could be used for this.

    8. **Check Local Firewall Settings**: Sometimes, the local firewall might interfere when certain applications try to establish connections while a VPN is active. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking Trados or the specific connection it tries to make.

    9. **Regular Reboots**: It's a simple suggestion, but regularly rebooting your computer can help resolve minor network glitches and hiccups that accumulate over time.

    Maybe something here might help?
