Macros in Trados?

Hi,

I am wondering if there is any way to make macros in Trados? Like the way I can make macros in Office.

F. eks. I would like all my target documents that I save with "Save the target as " open automatically in word afterwards, and many more.

I have been searching both in the programme and on google but I dont find anyting like that.

  • Hello,

Trados Studio does not natively support macros in the same way as Microsoft Office. However, it does offer a range of automation and customization options that can help streamline your workflow.

For instance, you can use the RWS AppStore to find plugins that can automate certain tasks. While there isn't a specific plugin that opens the target document in Word after saving, there are many other plugins that can automate various tasks in Trados Studio.

Additionally, if you're using the Professional version of Trados Studio, you can customize your project templates to automatically perform certain tasks during project creation. This can help save time and ensure consistency across your projects.

If you're comfortable with programming, you could also consider using the Trados Studio API to create your own custom automation scripts. This would require some knowledge of .NET programming, but it could provide the most flexibility in terms of automating your workflow.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions about Trados Studio, feel free to ask!
