After I added that user to languagecloud.sdl.com/.../dashboard, they can pass the login in the AppStore. 





However, it turns out that this login was unnecessary, and that they could still install plugins if the login failed. 

Is this all normal, intended behavior? It's a bit confusing.

I'm one of the users who encountered this log-in prompt. Looks like even if this log-in problem exists, the plugin still installs properly.

If Language Cloud account is not required for plugin installation, then the log-in prompt should not appear. It could be quite confusing to users.

I think there is probably a bit of logic built into the application from the "old AppStore" where the backend required all users to have an account and you had to log in to be able to download an app even from the webstore (https://appstore.rws.com/) itself.

Since we moved to the new backend (that we are still working on) there isn't currently a requirement to login and you can download from the webstore without signing in.  Whether we leave it this way or not is still in discussion so I cannot confirm whether we will remove this requirement from Studio, or whether we will add the requirement to the download again and then you will always require a login.

So for now I would "enjoy" this freedom despite the confusion.
