Package compatibility - Trados Studio 2019 and 2022

Hi,

I have a licence for both Studio 2019 and 2022. If I create a project in Studio 2022 and send it to be translated by someone who only has version 2019 (or the other way around), would that cause an issue? In other words, are packages created with Studio 2019 completely compatible with Studio 2022 and vice versa?

Thank you in advance!

This should work, although if the difference between versions becomes too great it may not.

The problems you are most likely to face are incompatible filetypes.  So translation would be fine as the sdlxliff will be ok in all versions, but some features such as QA (some elements of it), Quick Inserts, saving the target file for example may not work and these will have to be carried out in the version that created the package.

I recommend you test with a dummy package before giving serious work if you are not all on the same version.
