Create Return Package in Trados 2022 - no wsxz appended to package name

I'm using TS 2022 SR1 17.1.7.17560. When files are selected for the Create a Return Package feature, the Next button is greyed out. Only the Complete button is available. There is no choice of target folder and the package is dumped in the Windows Download folder - without a wsxz file type appended to it.

  • Hello,

Based on your query, it seems like you're having trouble with the 'Create Return Package' feature in Trados Studio 2022. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this issue:

Step 1: Ensure that you have a Project Package (.sdlppx) created first. This package needs to be imported into Trados Studio using the 'Open Package' option or by double-clicking the package.

Step 2: Check if the files you're trying to create a return package for were initially in a project package from another user. The 'Create Return Package' feature only works for these types of files.

Step 3: If the above steps are correctly followed and you're still facing the issue, it might be a software glitch. Try restarting Trados Studio or your computer.

Step 4: If the problem persists, consider reinstalling Trados Studio or updating it to the latest version.

Remember, the 'Create Return Package' feature is designed to work with files that were initially in a project package from another user. If you're trying to create a return package for files that weren't in a project package, the 'Next' button will be greyed out.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Best regards,

  • The files to be translated were downloaded from SDL WorldServer. The download was a xliff.wsxz package. Once the package opened, the files were displayed in sdlxliff format.
