Cannot save Alignment due to error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I spent several hours aligning two docx files, but am now unable to import the finished result into my (file-based) TM. I also cannot save it as .sdlalign or .sdlxliff.

Before, when trying to realign, I also received a "some of the alignments are complex" (or similar) error.

All suggested solutions I found in my search so far would include closing Studio, which I cannot do because I would lose all of my work.

Software:
Microsoft Windows 10 Home x64
Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.12.9338
