Error in target file generation

I keep getting the message "error in target file generation" when trying to finalize my project. I have tried to download the file, but since it is not finalized, it is now stuck in sdlxliff format, which I can't use. My file was originally in xlsx. I have tried recreating the project, but I receive the same error message. I have retried over 10 times. Thank you.

  • HI  ,

I'm sorry to hear this and I hope you managed to troubleshoot the problem in the meantime?

If not, please can you elaborate on the error message and whether you're using a project files or single file for translation?

Can you post the error message with the full stack error so we can investigate the issue closer to the source of the error?

Error dialog box with red X icon, message 'Failed to save target content: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' and OK button. Arrows pointing to 'Click here' and 'Advanced Editing Options' buttons in Trados Studio.

Alternatively, you can also try the following below.

Take the source file and follow these steps to troubleshoot:

    1. Create a new project or open the file as a single file for translation.

    2. Either pseudo-translate it using batch tasks (if applicable) or leave the target translation section empty.

    3. Try to save the target file.

By following these steps, you can ensure that the file itself is not the cause of the error message.

    I hope it helps?

    Regards,

    Oana
