I got an .mxliff file from a client and when trying to create a project and import the file, I am told the file is not a file to translate but is set to "reference file" which is not the case
Here enclosed the screen
Anyone any idea on how to solve this (memsource plugin downloaded from the appstore)?

I can see the screen I shared. It tells me the file is a reference file, whereas it is a file for translation (it s what the screen says)

2022 is the major release of Trados Studio. Full version is in Help > About Trados Studio.

Do you have this checkbox Memsource MXLIFF and ticked in your File Types settings?
I do not have the same layout

In the left pane, you need to click on File Types.
Then check on the right pane if the Memsource MXLIFF file type is there and ticked.

The issue seems that it is considered as a reference file not a file to translate, showing that the kind of file is supported but I am not able to use it therefore
Your issue is compatible with not having installed the plugin or not being active.
I see that the plugin icon (blue) is different than mine (green colour, just installed from the AppStore). Could you please remove the plugin, and then install the las one from the SDL AppStore?

I deleted/reinstalled and now it does not appear anymore.
Still having the blue part showed in my screen but not the one on the left pane anymore now under xliff
it appears in the added components
was there a hidden file to delete?
Did you restart Trados Studio?
Uninstall Memsource plugins, restart Trados Studio, install the new Memsoure plugin from the Appstore, and restart once more time Trados Studio. Does it work now?

I know but now I am not able to reproduce it as it disappared since I de-installed/re-installed

there is still the blue part, but under xliff as in your screen from the left pane, mxliff does not appear anymore
Click on the bue link Des types de fichiers supplementaires […] and check if there is some Memsource file type there. If it’s, please tick it.
