Trados Studio 2022 freezes at "Loading termbases..."

This is a problem that has been occurring for about a year.

The general pattern is as follows:

1) I notice that the terms in my default TB are no longer recognized in the Trados Editor. Terms in other (non-default) TBs are recognized.

2) I close and restart Trados Studio.

3) Trados Studio starts and displays the editor view. The Term Recognition window displays "Loading termbases..." At this point, Trados freezes and is completely unresponsive.

4) I go into the Windows Task Manager and try repeatedly to kill the Trados Studio process. After several attempts, Trados Studio finally terminates.

5) I restart Trados Studio and it works perfectly for a few days, then back to 1).

I often add new terms to the default TB while editing, if that's relevant.
