I often translate one time jobs which does not warrant creating a separate translation memory. It also doesn't make sense to connect translation memory of other clients because then these translation memories would be "polluted" by unwanted content.

I submit that Trados Studio should be able to leverage internal matches based on all confirmed segments in an open file. If the cursor is placed in a new untranslated segment Trados Studio should scan all the previously confirmed segments and compare them with the new segment and display any matches including visualisation of differences. This should be basic functionality which does not require connecting any existing translation memory or creating a new translation memory.
