How to set TM field values for Cloud projects inside Trados Studio or via the API?

Hi everyone!

In my company, we set two field values for every Trados project. As you know, these settings are located here for local projects:
Screenshot of Trados Studio Project Settings showing the 'Update' option under 'Translation Memory and Automated Translation' settings.

However, we cannot specify field values when creating Cloud project using the new project wizard in Trados Studio:
Screenshot of Trados Studio 'Create New Cloud Project' wizard with Translation Engines, Languages, and Resources sections visible but no field values setting.

Do you know if it is planned to add a setting for field values in that wizard?

Currently, we need to add them in the online dashboard, which is not very convenient.

Last question: I wanted to code my own project creation wizard using the API, however it seems that the create project endpoint doesn't support setting field values. Do you know if the API will be extended to support this feature?

Thanks for your answers :-)

  • Hi Jérôme, you should be able to use cloud project templates for this purpose. You should be able to set all the desired settings in the cloud project template and then specify this template when creating the project from Studio and/or use the "Save to Cloud" functionality. Both wizards give you the ability to specify a project template, and those settings should then be used as part of creating the cloud project and you should no longer need to make the changes manually every time. I cannot answer the API question, but I would think the same should apply - when creating a project via the API and specifying a project template that has the TM update settings set, then those settings should be applied as part of creating the project. I hope this helps, thanks, Daniel
