Filter/isolate translated segments based on Translation Unit information

Question

I have a very large TM in which many different colleagues have entered results. While revising sdlxliff files translated with this TM, I found translation errors that come from the same computer (this can be observed in the Translation Results window). 
 Fortunately, it seems that these errors come only from this particular translator/computer. So, the question is, is there a way to filter or isolate these segments, be it as translation units in the TM or in the sdlxliff files?

Dear Miguel, 
 you can easily do it by applying Trados filters. You have two options actually. 
 OPTION 1: 
 Create and apply a user-based filter to a specific project. 
 You comment on the errors detected in the files translated with a specific TM, so I would recommend: a)delete all target segments in your project, b)apply the user-based filter and c) pretranslate again. 
 To do so: 
 Go to yor Translation memory in the Project Settings and open the "Filters" tab (my screenshots are in Spanish, but something tells me it won&acute;t be a problem;): 
 
 Go to "Forced filter", open "Edit" and create a personalized filter by pressing the "Add" button: 
 
 Then choose "Last edited by", "equal to" operator and then introduce the username. 
 
 My advice is to always filter by the "Last edited by" not by "Created by", since some of the segments may have been created by someone, let&acute;s say, less reliable, and then corrected (overwritten) by another translator. If you choose "Crteated by", you automatically lose these valid corrected translations, however the "Last edited by" option copies the "creator&acute;s" name in case the TU was created and never edited. so you will get to these "bad" translations anyway. 
 So if you set the filter like this, the TM will return the translations done by this user (or by several users, since you can add more user-based conditions): 
 
 Don&acute;t forget to indicate that you want the translations done or by user 1 OR by user 2. Otherwise you will get null result, since there are no segments edited by 2 users at a time. 
 However, if you want to get all the translations, except those done by these users , i.e. exclude these users from the search, flag the checkbox NO (this is what you are looking for): 
 
 Now Accept, go to the Editor window and Pretranslate. You will have the results from your TM, but you will see no segments translated by the indicated users among them. 
 BUT: 
 you can always do the second pretranslation if you want to use these "not very correct" translations as Draft, for example (and overwrite them with correct translation - sometimes it&acute;s only one term you need to replace, no need to reject the entire segment). 
 In this case, after getting the "trustful" information from your TM, you can change the status of the "good" segments to "Locked" or "Approved", then delete the user-based TM filter and pretranslate again. 
 It is important not to overwrite the "good" translations during this second pretranslation, since you may have reliable 95% fuzzies in your TM and unreliable 100% or CMs. Trados will try to replace your "good" fuzzies with "bad" 100%/CM, since they are considered better matches. 
 So choose "Maintain existing translation", then pretranslate again to get your "improvable" draft. Segments with "locked" or "approved" status will not be replaced. 
 
 Indicate your translator that "Locked" /"Approved" segments are reliable and others are not. If you consider it confusing, then just never do this second pretranslation. 
 PS: Your filters can be personalized by user, date of creation, a word they may contain, etc. You can combine them according to your needs: I want the translations of X user done from December 24, 2021 to December 24, 2022 that contain the word "button". Easy and really useful. 
 These you can apply to a specific TM or to your general settings. 
 If you do this from the General Trados settings (Options), the filter will be applied by default to the TM every time you use it, something you may not want in the future. So the decision is up to you. 
 OPTION 2: 
 Clean your TM from the unwanted user translations once and for all. 
 Go to the Translations memory tab, add a Filter with the attributed described above: Last edited by, Equal to, username:

Save the filter: 
 
 Then press "Search" (Realizar busqueda) and you will have the list of "unreliable" translations: 
 Select them all, delete and that&acute;s it. Remember, that if you use this option, you can delete only 100 TUs at a time. 
 If you have thousands, then better use the Batch delete option ( Eliminaci&oacute;n por lotes in Spanish): 
 
 When you press the button, the window with the previously saved filters pops up: 
 
 Choose the filter needed, click on the "Finish" button and your TM is clean. 
 Be careful with this, because if you set the filter incorrectly, you can delete valid information and this is smth you can not revert. So, or filter and delete "manually" (selecting 100 units at a time or create a backup copy of the TM you need to clean). 
 Batch delete task in 2021 does not work (there is a bug, so the only option is a manual cleanup).

 Very good question! 
 The filter you have set returns you the translations done ONLY by this translator (a feature you may be interested in some day). 
 So to EXCLUDE his translations from pretranslation, now mark the NO box on the left: 
 
 Now you have your pretranslated text free from any of the segments done by this translator.

Miguel, two points here. 
 1. checking/not cheking the box "NO" is crucial because the filter excludes from the search all those segments that DO NOT match the condition you indicate: 
 
 Let&acute;s say, you have 3 translators in the team: HANGE\X, HANGE\ Y and HANGE\ maryd. 
 Yoy can filter their translations as follows: 
 a) establish the filter "all segments last edited by HANGE\maryd" - Trados will exclude from the TM search process all segments that do not match the condition "last edited by HANGE\ maryd" (will not include the translations done by HANGE\X and HANGE\ Y) and, therfore, will return the results translated ONLY by HANGE\ maryd; 
 b) establish the filter "all segments last edited by NO HANGE\ maryd" (equivalent to telling Trados: search only the translations of HANGE\X and HANGE\ Y ) - Trados will EXCLUDE from the search any segments that do not match this condition, so it will return the translations of HANGE\X and HANGE\ Y and exclude those last edited by HANGE\ maryd (all those segments created by anyone who is not HANGE\X and HANGE\ Y). 
 It works in a kind of "reversed way", it took me time to figure it out too. 
 2. maybe you still receive the segments of "other" translators, because you see that they were "created by" the user, who is not HANGE\maryd. This menas that at some point HANGE\maryd used the translation of HANGE\ X, changed it and saved it to the TM. Attention, here you may have a problem. If HANGE\maryd confirms in his project other translor&acute;s segment without changing it, no problem, it will be still created by and last edited by that another translator. However, if he changes something, he overwrites it! 
 I don&acute;t know how you work and whether HANGE\maryd translations are all new. If they are all new and have never been revised and edited by reliable translators, then better use the created by" filter directly. Or establish two conditions: created by AND last edited by: 
 
 This means, you will rescue the segments created by HANGE\maryd and already overwritten by reliable translators (which is good) but you will "lose" those created by others and overwritten by HANGE\maryd (can be good if HANGE\maryd changed a punctuation mark or some space and the segment remains "reliable" or bad, if HANGE\maryd did some unwanted modification).....if I knew better the way you work, I could think of a better solution. 
 However, the segment confirmation issue is interesting, I would like to involve Paul : 
 Paul, could you, please, clarify what exactly happens to the segment information in the following cases. Correct me if I am wrong: 
 a) if A receives a 100%/CM translated by B and simply confirms it in his project. The segment is still created by A and last edited by A. 
 b) if A receives a 100%CM translated by B and edits it. The segment is overwritten and is now created by A and last edited by B. 
 c) if A receives a fuzzy translated by B and edits it, a new segment is created with information created by A or B??? and, obviously edited by B.
