SDL Studio package opens inexplicably in memoQ

Hi everyone,

When I receive a file, clearly identified as Trados package from a client, it shows the memoQ logo in front of the file's name:

Screenshot showing a Trados package file with a memoQ logo in front of the file's name indicating a file association issue.
If I click on the file, memoQ opens.

I can, however, drag the file into the "Drag file here..." area or click "Open Project Package" and it opens in Trados.
memoQ seems to be the overriding factor.

It does not prevent me from using Trados, it is simply VERY annoying.

Thanks for any advice.

Wolf

memoQ is a tool stealing all file associations from Trados Studio. The advice by Paul is usually the simplest one. But you can also go via Windows app settings and associate the corresponding file name extensions with Trados again.

Please bear in mind, that with any new installation or upgrade of memoQ it will again pretend to be Trados and steal all the file name extensions.
