As a workaround, just to ensure that the length restriction is not exceeded, select No Markup in the Review ribbon:

When you are done with the length verification of all segments, you can then select Show Markup:

As discussed below, there is an issue in Review mode that the RWS team needs to check.

Quick follow-up on this: this issue is still not fixed (Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.11.19134), making the QC feature quite useless.
