Can Trados translate the original text with track changes (and preserve the track changes of the original text) as well as the annotations attached to the original text?

The Word document has been "revised" in the "review" mode, for example, various revised records are kept in the original document (the original document has not "accepted" or "rejected" these "revised" records. Can trados translate this original and keep a full "revision" record in the translation?

sample of part of the document:

  • Hello,

Trados Studio does indeed have the capability to handle tracked changes in source documents. However, it's important to note that while Trados Studio can display and work with tracked changes in the source document, it does not preserve these changes in the translated document. The translated document will not show the tracked changes from the source document.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how Trados Studio handles tracked changes:

Step 1: Import the Word document with tracked changes into Trados Studio. The tracked changes will be displayed in the source text.

Step 2: Translate the document as usual. Trados Studio will treat the tracked changes as if they were accepted in the source document.

Step 3: When you export the translated document, the tracked changes from the source document will not be present. The translated document will only contain the final translated text.

As for annotations, Trados Studio does not support the translation of annotations. However, you can manually copy the annotations from the source document to the translated document after the translation process.

I hope this clarifies how Trados Studio handles tracked changes and annotations. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
