Trados Studio 2022 sr2 not updating my TM's

After performing the update with SR2 I note that my tm's are not being updated (box "update" is selected). Also the batch tasks for updating the tm's do not add new content. The function "upgrade" for the tm's is not selectable.
Anyone can help please?

  • Hello Lucia Hesselink,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with updating your translation memories (TMs) in Trados Studio 2022 SR2. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this issue:

Step 1: Ensure that your TMs are upgraded. If you've recently switched from an older version of Trados Studio to Trados Studio 2022, it's important to upgrade your TMs to ensure optimal performance. To do this, open Trados Studio, go to the Translation Memories view, open the TM you want to upgrade, and right-click on it to select 'Upgrade Translation Memory'. If this option is grayed out, it means that the TM has already been upgraded.

Step 2: Check your settings. Make sure that the 'Update' box is selected in your project settings. This will ensure that your TMs are updated as you work.

Step 3: Try running the batch tasks for updating the TMs again. If they still don't add new content, there might be an issue with the specific TMs you're using.

Step 4: If you're still having trouble, it might be helpful to create a new TM and see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem is with your TMs or with Trados Studio itself.

Remember, it's always a good idea to keep a backup of your TMs before making any major changes or upgrades. If you continue to experience issues, you may want to consider reaching out to RWS Support for further assistance.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards,

I think you need to check a few things... so this springs to mind:

    1. are you creating projects with a "ProjectTM"?  If so you would be updating this and then possibly checking your Main TM which won't be updated until you Finalize or run a batch task to update the Main TM.
    2. are your TMs stored in a network location... OneDrive, Dropbox, MAC file system etc.?  Could be that these TMs are not really accessible even though you think they are.
    3. bit of a basic one... but have you got your TM's configured correctly in your project settings and not just your File Options?
    4. are you sure you are checking the same TM you are updating?  Have you checked the paths?
    5. another basic one... how do you know they are not updating?  What are you checking?  If you re checking in the TM Maintenance View are you aware this is paginated after to exceed the default TU's per page you won't see new TU's unless you navigate to the next page.

  • Thank you Paul,
everything in my work routine remained the same, the only thing that changed was the update to SR2.
I therefore decided to re-install the SR1 and everything seems to be working fine, tm's are being updated. Might try to install the SR2 sometime later, when no urgent projects are pending.
    Thanks again - Lucie
