Package files unintentionally being saved in wrong folder

I recently installed Studio 2015 on my two computers and a really strange thing happens when I open packages. In stead of the folders and project file associated with the package being saved in the same folder as I saved the original package file, they are saved in a completely different folder (and I have asked for this to happen, to put it that way!). This happens to alle the packages I open.  What can  I do to resolve this? It never occurred in the 2011 version of Studio, which is the one I used before I upgraded.

  • Hi Hanne,

You can teach Studio where to put your projects...

You first decide where you want your project folders to be saved to, on the first page of the package opening wizard, by clicking 'Browse' and navigating to where you want to save your project.

Then, if you keep saving your projects to the same directory, Studio will learn where to put your projects.

Once you've opened a package, a copy of that package will be filed in folder 'In' within folder 'Packages' within your created project folder structure.
So there's no need to keep the original package you received.
Any return packages you create will be filed under 'Packages > Out' once you've created them.

All the above behaviour is the same as it was in Studio 2011.

    Hope this helps,
    All the best,
    Ali
