Trados Studio 2022 does hold general quality check settings in project settings

Hi everybody,

I upgraded to Trados Studio 2022 Professional (currently SR2) some time ago and noticed one thing since then:

All the quality check settings made under Options are not applied in the individual Project Settings.

With every new project I create I have to make the same quality check settings under Project Settings.

In the previous 2019 version the settings under Options were automatically also applied under Project Settings.

And yes, the settings under Options were made before creating a new project but still no settings under Project Settings.

This is quite tiresome making the settings again for every project created.

Could this be some sort of bug or some other issue I can solve without reinstalling?

Thanks for any ideas.

Regards,

Angelika

The project template you are using is now obviously NOT the default one. Only the one selected under File -> Setup -> Project templates is connected to the settings in Options. But this is not the best way to use Trados Studio. Much better is to create individual project templates for different project types and customers.

If you do not want to bother with project templates, check which one is the default one now. Or simply adapt the settings in the template you are using based on any of your projects. This can be done in the Projects view from the Home tab.

  • oh, I didn't realise this. I suppose you are right, this template must have moved over from 2019. That explains.

    Thanks a lot Jerzy.

From what I remember there has been a change in the selection of the default project template between Studio versions. The best way for you now would really be the adaptation of the default project template (whatever selection is active now) with the settings of your current project.

BTW, you can easily export and import a QA profile for the QA checker. But I fully understand, that propagating settings from one project to another in any way is a waste of time. The use of a project template is the only time saving way to apply all relevant project settings, including QA, TM, TB and many more.
