"There are too many items in your combo box" error after update on Studio 2014

Hello all,

Studio 2014 updated last night and now it won't open. The window closes and then the error pop ups. Can anyone help or refer me to where I can find help? I have a translation I need to turn in. TIA

  • Hi Fiona,

    I'd try running a repair installation on this from the Control Panel and see if this helps.  If it doesn't try a reset.

    This article explains what to do:

    Studio reset: http://kb.sdl.com/kb/article?ArticleId=4393&source=Article&c=12&cid=23

    But only apply the first two as you probably don't need to change the projects folder for this problem:

       C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Local\SDL: delete/rename the SDL Trados Studio and ProjectApi folder

       C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL: delete/rename the SDL Trados Studio folder

    Don’t do number 3. ie, the projects folder.

    If that doesn't help then log a case through the solution finder.

    Go to the Knowledgebase;

    http://kb.sdl.com

    Then go to the tab called Solution Finder ( http://kb.sdl.com/?cid=23&tab=sf ) and now go here;

    Download & Installation Problems
    - I use SDL Trados Studio and/or SDL MultiTerm 2009, 2011, 2014 or 2015
    -- The installation went fine but now I get an error message etc
    --- The problem occurs in (pick the appropriate tool/s)
    ---- None of the articles resolved my problem (if they didn’t!)

    Follow the route for your problem and if there is no answer that helps by the time you get to the end you'll be presented with a form to contact support. Complete all the fields in the form making sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.

    Also use the Chrome browser to log the case if you have it; you'll get more success in completing the form.

    Regards

    Paul
