Message window keeps popping up

This question has been asked before, years ago, but no proper solution was provided, as far as I can see. The message window keeps popping up when I'm translating and I can't get rid of it. There are always a lot of false errors and warnings, such as tags and numbers (question for another day), so correcting the errors is not a solution. So far I have closed the window (it just pops up again a couple of segmenst later, again and again), clicked on "delete all messages" (new so called errors makes the messages window pop up again), turned off all verifications under Options and under Project Settings, and I have reset the windows layout under the View tab in the Editor window. Nothing works. Please help, this is incredibly annoying! I use Trados Studio 2022, SR2.

Kind regards

    Hi Rosanna,

You said you'd turned off all verifications via Options and project settings, but I'm not sure you have because you definitely can stop verification happening when you confirm a segment via File > Options, by unticking the box shown here:

Screenshot of Trados Studio Options menu with Verification settings. 'Enable verification of segment' option is checked.

All settings made via File > Editor in the window above will work unaffected by project settings because they don't appear in project settings.

This being said, any setting under Options that also exists under Project settings will be overruled by the same setting in Project settings. This is because individual clients will have different requirements, that they can set in the project settings they send with project packages, or you can set them to suit individual clients. It's logical.

I digress... I use the above setting because I prefer verifying the whole job when I have finished, using F8 or clicking on 'Verify' on the Review ribbon tab:

Screenshot of Trados Studio interface showing an open project with a warning message about file type support and various translation segments.

Another point in favour of turning verification off via File>Options is that it improves the speed of Studio.

I hope that the above helps, rather than confusing the issue...

    All the best,
