Hi, my company does English and French catalogues.
They prepare the materials using Adobe InDesign.
I asked them to send me the file in IDML format BUT they can't seperate the files and send me only the English language part.
Studio can't separate the 2 layers. Is there a way to do this, maybe with another software?

That's just nonsense. They just hide the layers they don't wish to export (e.g. French text) and then export the idml.

Thank you for that. it just means that the person does not know InDesign very well. I will pass along the answer.
In this case I recommend you replace “That's just nonsense” with “I think I once heard that it might be possible to make layers invisible before the export.”

Would it be the same wheter they use the Mac version or the Windows version of InDesign?
I don't use Mac, but layers are foundational for InDesign. It's unthinkable that they have a very different functionality.
