Managing Multilingual Translation Projects in Trados: Splitting and Merging XLIFF Files for Efficient Collaboration

A client has provided a Word file containing paragraphs in multiple languages - French, English, Spanish, and Italian - requiring translation into German.

The client requests both the translated German Word file and four XLIFF files, each for a specific language combination (EN>DE, ES>DE, IT>DE, FR>DE).

As the project must be executed in Trados, leveraging provided TMX files for the linguistic combinations, I'm tasked with translating EN>DE and FR>DE, while a colleague handles IT>DE and ES>DE.

How can we effectively split the file into four XLIFF files for separate translation, and what's the process for merging them to produce the final document?

Thank you
