I can't open any file anymore. Studio 2011. Error "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value"

Hi Everyone!

I was working on a project when I took a break, and when I came back to Trados, the MyMemoryPlugin didn't display anything anymore, so I restarted Studio.

But then,I could not open the file I was working on, or any other file.

I've received the error message: "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value"

Here's what the error report looks like, don't know if that helps:

Any help?

  • Hi Frédéric,

This error message referring to Newtonsoft.Json is a message we used to see from time to time because MyMemory used a conflicting version of this file to Studio.  But it is odd it just happened.  I think the best solution might be to try a Studio reset.

This article explains what to do:

    Studio reset:

But only apply the first two as you don't need to change the projects folder for this problem:

C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Local\SDL: delete/rename the SDL Trados Studio and ProjectApi folder

C:\Users\[User_Name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL: delete/rename the SDL Trados Studio folder

Don’t do number 3. ie, the projects folder.

    Regards

    Paul
