How can I prioritize MT results over TM?

I am trying to get Studio to always display the results of the two MT engines I have chosen for a project. I also like to have TM results, of course, but I don't want 7 very similar TM results, all not quite right, and then no MT results because the search settings restrict the number of results to seven. If the four best TM results don't cut it, then the following ones are very unlikely to be better.

How can I tell Studio either to only show a few TM results, and always display the MTs or to FIRST display the MTs and then fill up the list with TM results? I have the MT engines as my first two language resources, but they still get tacked onto the end of the results.

Does anybody know how to achieve this?

Sorry for the late reply.  I don't believe this is possible, and you'll always get this sort of thing:

Screenshot of Trados Studio interface showing Translation Results with Machine Translation, various translation options, and a highlighted text: 'Dragonflies are moving northwards across Great Britain and Ireland as temperatures rise.'

The reason is most likely because the underlying match value for NMT is 0:

Close-up of Trados Studio's NMT segment showing Translation Details with Status: Draft, Origin: Machine Translation, Provider: Machine Translation, and a Score of 0%.

So even setting penalties as I showed above will have no effect.

That is a bit of a hypothesis because I have not checked with a developer, and it could be that something else triggers that, but it would be interesting to see what we could do that sits over the top of an MT provider and affects it so that the position of the results could be influenced in the Translation Results window.

Even better, have an option in the software to set that and override anything else.  Maybe worth you adding that as an idea -  Trados Studio Ideas - so that the principle was mirrored in the cloud for consistency.
