Unable to create TM export

I have just upgraded my Trados license to Studio 2024, but I now seem unable to create a TM export. Once I've added the filters and click on Finish, Studio is thinking for a bit and then gives me the following error: 'object reference not set to an instance of an object':

Error dialog box in Trados Studio with a red cross icon, displaying the message 'object reference not set to an instance of an object' in Dutch.

I have added the following filters, although it also happens at some point when I try to export the entire TM:

Trados Studio filter dialog box showing conditions for 'Created on' and 'Last modified on' with checkboxes, and logical operator options.

I have three TMs and the same error occurs with all three. Do you have any possible solutions I could try?

Thanks in advance!

This null reference could be caused by the TM being stored in OneDrive or some other location that is synching outside of your local drive.  Here's why:

    1. If OneDrive hasn’t fully synced the TM file, Trados might encounter missing or inaccessible sections, causing the “object reference” error.

    2. OneDrive may lock files during syncing, or there might be conflicts if the file is accessed on multiple devices simultaneously.

    3. OneDrive can sometimes store files as placeholders when space is limited. If the TM file is only partially available offline, it could lead to unexpected errors in applications like Trados.

If possible, try moving the TM file locally to a non-cloud directory (e.g., C:\LocalTMs) and see if the error persists.  Alternatively, ensure that the TM file is set to always be available offline in OneDrive by right-clicking the file, selecting Always keep on this device, and confirming it has fully downloaded before attempting the export again.  This test might help determine if OneDrive storage is the root cause of the issue.
