Default TM user ID isn't used in Trados 2024

I recently installed Trados 2024, and I'm struggling to get the TM User ID right.
When I go to Options > Setup > Users, there is one TM User ID, and that's the correct one (let's call it A).
In the Project Settings of packages, in Language Pairs, the language pair, and Translation Memory Updates, when I click TM User ID, this also shows the correct TM User ID (A).
However, when I translated a segment and check the User ID shown in the Translation Results box, there is a different user ID (B), which I think is linked to my computer ID.
If all these settings in Trados are correct and showing A, how can I fix this issue?

    Since this is a package it's probably coming from the setting your client uses when assigning packages.  They add a user ID when adding you as a user on their end, and this allows them to know who to translations are completed by.  That would be my theory anyway.

    Does this only happen with packages from one particular client?  Is it always that ID with all packages irrespective of who sent them to you?

    I've only received Trados packages from one client for a very long time, so I can't check if this happens with other clients. And in the mean time, I got a new PC with a more fitting user name, and I actually thought that was the reason the problem isn't really a problem anymore, but I'll get back to that. I do know that there is a difference between the TMs I add to the package myself, and the TMs that the client included. I see this for strings that were saved in the TM on one day, within one translation session:

    But the strange thing is, the account name in my new PC is "Jolanda Brink - Brink Translations", so I guess that is what the info in the second screenshot is based on (without the spaces). The device name of my new PC is BT_2024, so might that be what the info in the top screenshot is based on? I don't see "DESKTOP-U1408DB anywhere in my new device, though (I do see "NUC14RVK-B"). I'm having trouble believing the client would set BT as the user name - I know in the past, though, that I tried to set it as BT myself. I also do know that after importing my packages back in WorldServer, when the strings are added to the online TM, they are logged under my name "Jolanda Brink", so that's a third version, and that is what the client set (rather than BT).

    In my original post here, I'm saying "In the Project Settings of packages, in Language Pairs, the language pair, and Translation Memory Updates, when I click TM User ID, this also shows the correct TM User ID". I can no longer find this setting ("Translation Memory Updates" seems to have disappeared).


    So, as said, it's not really a problem for me anymore, but I do still find it strange.

    I can only think that for a workable audit trail your client probably sees the user names in the sdlxliff files (and these have changed over time for various reasons) and when coming across something unknown they update their user details so they can be sure to be able to identify who did what.

    So if you change your username from time to time, a diligent client might just be making sure their details match yours.
