How do I manage folder structure with server projects

Hi, I am suffering from disarray in my project folder structure, and I am uncertain about moving them physically.

As a freelancer, I have a folder structure by client/agency, containing the different projects for that client/agency.

I will often work on multiple different client/agency projects on the same day, certainly in the same week.

When you open a package or a link to a server project, Trados automatically creates the new project in the last folder you were working in, if I have correctly understood. Not by any means my favourite default!

I am receiving more and more work in the form of packages and server based projects. For some or all, I am not able to amend the project settings, including the path.

Although I have seen Paul's response that you can change the destination folder of a package when you unpack it, but I'm not sure that is always true, and in any case, it is very easy to forget - doh! - and to want to move the project to the right place afterwards. Certainly it is not possible to change server based projects, where the details are simply not available. So if you click on a link in a mail without first having gone into Trados and opened a project for that client - whammo, it's in the wrong place.

I know you can just change the path in the project settings normally, and it moves it quite happily for you at folder level. But I now have some ongoing projects in totally the wrong place, in fact I'm extremely confused because I have just seen one of my server projects, that I have been working on for some while, sitting in a folder that I only created yesterday, being a new client. I have opened those projects in Trados today, and they seem to have moved - well, I'm confused.

What are my options, please? Can I physically move them to the right folder? I don't want to mess the server projects up. Thanks!
