Setting up of languages in Trados

Hi,

I've just received a translation from Portuguese to French, but I can't open the sdlppx file because I haven't set up this language yet!

How do I do that??!!

Actually I have a list of just a few languages, but no Portuguese!

Is that a matter of the kind of version I paid for??

Do I have to pay an additional fee?? I hope not!...

Please let me know, asap!!

Thank you so much in advance for your very quick answer!!

Is that a matter of the kind of version I paid for??

Possibly... what version do you have?

Do I have to pay an additional fee??

Probably not... when you confirm what you have we'll know for sure.

Do you know what variants the package contains?  Portuguese to French isn't enough... is it fr-FR, fr-CA, fr-BE, etc... and pt-PT, pt-BR, pt-CV etc.?  Also are there other languages in the package you received because the project manager simply sent you the full package and expects you to work with one language pair only?

The place to add your languages would be here once you know what languages are in the Package:

Screenshot of Trados Studio Options showing Language Pairs with a list including English to French, English to German, English to Spanish, Portuguese to English, and Dutch to French.

How many you can add depends on the version of Studio you have, and whether you can even open the package or not depends on how smart the project manager has been in preparing the package for you.
