I'm translating a short story and there's a pun in a segment which can't be translated to the target language, so I need to add a translator's note explaining it to the reader. I looked up here on the forum and saw that somebody already asked this question in 2017 for Trados Studio 2017, and the answer at the time was that Studio wasn't capable of that, but now it's been seven years and I wonder if the current version of Studio has this feature?
It's always been possible to add notes in Trados. I think you need to provide a better explanation of what exactly you need and where the note is going to be. If you mean can you add some sort of footnote into a document, any document, that contains this information then please show me any TMS (other than tools that translate natively in Microsoft Word) that do this?

Thank you for your answer, Paul! I was able to get what I wanted by commenting on the segment with Review > Add comment, then checking Project Settings > File Types > Microsoft Word 2007-2019 > Comments > Retain Studio target comments in target file
