I'm using Trados 2024 and recently updated the program. The issue is that find and replace functions does not work. The buttons in the ribbon are grayed out and keyboard shortcut does not work. Referring to the discussion in the forum, I tried resetting layout but it didn't work. I also tried renaming three folders mentioned in the discussion by adding _old to the ends of folder names. Then I restarted Trados, but the functions do not work. I need help.
I think the version is Trados 2024 SR1. I tried to find more detail of the version but I couldn't find more. The issue is find and replace in Editor and there is no error message. Just buttons in the right end of home ribbon is grayed out and shortcut key doesn't work. The issue is not project specific. Of course, I did this with target text selected. I have been using Trados for several years but it never happened before.
To find out your exact build number go to Help and press About. It will show you the necessary detail.

First, I ran repair install and tried starting Trados. This time trados initiates starting but soon stopped (the first-appearing panel closed). After that I also tried renaming the xml files. But, the start of Trados stopped in the middle of starting again.
Have you deleted the said folder? The best idea now would be deleting both folders, 18 and Studio18.
If you need to reinstall TS, right click the installer and "Run as admin". Same applies to MultiTerm. And always install TS first, then MT.
