Trados Studio 2024 crashes after update to 18.0.2.3255

I have just updated to Trados Studio 2024 18.0.2.3255 today and I wish I hadn't bothered because the program now crashes immediately after I either generate review files or a (WS) return package. Has anyone else experienced this issue and is there a way to roll back to the previous version?

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Trados Studio 2024 after updating to version 18.0.2.3255. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Step 1: Check for and install any Windows updates. This can help ensure that your system is up-to-date and compatible with the latest version of Trados Studio.

Step 2: Repair your Trados Studio installation. You can do this by following the guide 'Repairing your installation of Trados Studio'.

Step 3: Ensure .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later is installed. Trados Studio 2024 requires .NET Framework 4.8 or later.

Step 4: Refresh your .NET Framework installation by toggling the .NET 4.5 (or higher) feature off and on. This can help resolve any issues with the .NET Framework that may be causing Trados Studio to crash.

Step 5: Check for corrupted Translation Memory by disabling TMs one by one. If Trados Studio stops crashing after disabling a specific TM, that TM may be corrupted.

Step 6: Check for corrupted Termbase by disabling termbases one by one. If Trados Studio stops crashing after disabling a specific termbase, that termbase may be corrupted.

Step 7: Store translation resources locally instead of on shared drives or cloud services. This can help prevent issues with accessing these resources that may cause Trados Studio to crash.

Step 8: Consider resetting Trados Studio to default settings. This can help resolve any issues with the settings that may be causing Trados Studio to crash.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, it may be necessary to roll back to a previous version of Trados Studio. However, this should be considered a last resort, as it may not be compatible with your current projects.
