What's up with those shortcuts? Increase Font not working

I have come across different situations where assigning a certain shortcut to certain features in Studio 2019 does nothing. Now I assigned Ctrl+F to "Increase" (font size) and it does nothing. I made sure to check there is no conflict of shortcuts or anything. It just doesn't work. I tried other key combos too and nothing.

Anyone?

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more information about the steps you took to assign the shortcut, the version of Trados Studio you are using, and the operating system of your computer.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems like you're having trouble with assigning shortcuts in Trados Studio 2019. Here are some steps you can try:

Step 1: Open Trados Studio and go to the "Options" menu.

Step 2: In the Options dialog, go to the "Keyboard Shortcuts" section.

Step 3: In the list of commands, find the "Increase" command for font size.

Step 4: Click on the command and then click on the "Change" button to assign a new shortcut.

Step 5: Press the keys you want to assign to the command (in your case, Ctrl+F) and click "OK".

Step 6: Click "OK" again to close the Options dialog and apply the changes.

If the shortcut still doesn't work, it might be due to a conflict with another application or system shortcut. You can try assigning a different combination of keys to the command and see if it works.

Also, as the context suggests, if you're using a laptop, you might need to disable the function keys in your system settings to enable the shortcut keys in Trados Studio. The method to do this varies depending on the brand and model of your laptop.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.

CTRL+F is the standard for find. Thus I doubt it will work for anything else. Try another shortcut. TBH I do not see any point in adding a shortcut for an action needed once a lifetime... You can better adapt font sizes via File -> Options -> Editor

  • I intentionally chose CTRL F to make sure it's not an issue with the combo itself. I also tried other shortucts.

I change font size all the time depending on the project stage.
