Old and new sources get mixed-up in Translation results window

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing a translation segment with an 87% match, but the source and target texts are mismatched.

In this image, the segment in the TM and its 87% match in the text to translate appear to be mixed-up.

I thought I could fix this in Options > Editor > Translation > Translation results window:

Screenshot of Trados Studio's Options menu with the Translation Results Window settings, highlighting options for showing differences in matches.

However, even with these Settings it still appears wrong. I think it must be a bug, but I might be wrong. Could someone please help me showing differences between matches in the Translation results window?

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more information about the version of Trados Studio you are using, your operating system, and any recent changes or updates you have made to the software. Also, it would be helpful to know if you have tried any troubleshooting steps other than adjusting the settings in the Translation results window.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with the Translation results window in Trados Studio. The problem might be due to the fact that the TM was not updated when the Cloud project was created. Here are some steps you can try:

Step 1: Update your Translation Memory (TM). Make sure that your TM is up-to-date with the latest translations.

Step 2: Run a Batch Task -> Pre-translate. This should ensure that you get the latest translation results.

Step 3: Check your settings in Options > Editor > Translation > Translation results window. Make sure that the settings are configured correctly to show differences between matches.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be a bug in the software. In this case, it would be best to report this issue to the Trados Studio team for further investigation.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.

  • I must add that this applies to all TMs, local and server-based. From the AI answer I gather it must be a bug. Could anyone please help?
